RRTP Alerts / Notifications Frequently Asked Questions
  1. How and when will Comverge notify me of high prices?
How and when will Comverge notify me of high prices?
We have two (2) ways to inform you of high electricity prices:
Predicted Day-Ahead High Price Notifications and Day-Of High Price Alerts.
  1. Predicted Day-Ahead High Price Notification

By default, theWattSpott will notify you via email when prices are predicted to reach or exceed 14 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for any number of hours during the following day. You can also select to receive these notifications via text (SMS) message or automated phone call by logging into your WattSpot account or by calling 1-866 WATTSPOT. If high prices are predicted, you'll receive this notification after 3:30 p.m. CDT. We will only send one (1) day-ahead high predicted price notification per day.

You can also select to opt-out of receiving this notification.

When the Day-Ahead Predicted High Price Notification is triggered, we will activate the “Predicted Day-Ahead High Price Notification” banner on the front page of theWattSpot.com website. This banner will remain active from around 3:30 p.m. CDT until the end of the following day.

  2. Real-Time Day-Of High Price Alerts

By default, we will notify you during the day via email when real-time day-of prices reach or exceed 14 cents per kWh for at least thirty (30) minutes. You can also select to receive these alerts via email or text (SMS) message by logging into your WattSpot account or by calling 1-866 WATTSPOT.

You can select to receive these alerts when real-time day-of prices reach or exceed 10 cents per kWh. You can change your alert preferences by logging into your WattSpot account.

When the 14-cent Real-Time Day-Of High Price Alert is triggered, we will activate the “High Price Alert” banner on the front page of theWattSpot.com. This banner will remain active until prices are no longer at 14 cents per kWh (or higher) for at least one (1) hour.

If you select to receive the 10-cent alert threshold, you will still receive the 14-cent Predicted Day-Ahead High Price Notifications.

You may also turn off your Real-Time Day-Of High Price Alerts so that you do not receive them. By doing so, you will still receive the Predicted Day-Ahead High Price Notifications unless you also turn off the Notifications.

With the 14-cent and 10-cent alerts, we will only send you one (1) email or text (SMS) message within a four-hour period. For instance, if you receive a high price alert at 10 a.m., we will not send another alert until 2 p.m. In the meantime, you should check www.theWattspot.com for additional information.

Update your alert service option when you sign-in to your Account Information page. You can always find day-ahead hourly price projections at www.theWattspot.com or by calling 1-866-WATTSPOT.
